The Liberal Matrix: Politics

Liberal - free, refined, independent, generous, not bound by orthodox forms in political philosophy, one who favors greater freedom in the political sphere.                                                                               Founded by Lee Wind in 1980 as LEEWAY, a newsletter of opinion and book reviews, that honored the life of the blue water sailor.

We are being sold a bill of goods called news every night. ABC, CBS, CNN, FOX, MSNBC, NBC, all purvey news that has stringent corporate control over content. Remember friends, these news networks and news divisions are ALL profit centers owned by corporations watching the bottom line. 24 hour news coverage forces networks to repeat stories where human interest or sensationalism out weigh overall relevance. A story with great film will take precedence over a video-less story of greater importance. In addition, your odds of receiving objective news reporting are rather dim in this new era of corporation owned news centers.

To provide you with an alternative this meta site has been constructed. Herein you will find a matrix of news and views from a progressive and liberal viewpoint that no longer exists in the mainstream corporate media.

The research tools found in The Truth Squad provide unambigious unbiased fact verification.

In Media Analysis you will find a methodology for analyzing the rhetoric being aimed at your heart and mind by the news media.

Then you will find contemporary alternative Progressive independent news sources (news portals, mags, e-zines, newsletters) that will provide a slant not found on the big 6 news networks.

Our next stop takes you to some of the actual Progressive Media outlets found on radio, print, film, and the web.

We then introduce you to a slice of America's Traditional & Historic Progressive political tradition by listing (in time line fashion) some of the great progressive groups, movements, magazines, and perspectives.

After a quick stop at Peace Goods, we end up in the Environmental Paradigm where we note where we stand in relationship to our Planet and the future of humankind.

Enjoy, open your mind, and feel the freedom that comes from a mind unfettered by corporate newspeak.
